This Privacy Policy describes how Relay (“the app,” “we”) handles your information. Relay is an iOS application for tracking sleep sessions during the newborn period.
The short version: Relay collects no personal data. None.
The rest of this document explains that in the specific detail Apple’s App Store guidelines and applicable privacy regulations require.
We collect no personal information. Relay does not ask for, transmit, or store any of the following:
Relay has no account system. There is nothing to sign in to, nothing to register for, and no user profile to create.
Relay stores the following information locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework:
This information never leaves your device unless you choose to enable iCloud backup (see Section 3).
If — and only if — you have iCloud backup enabled in your iPhone’s Settings (Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud), Apple will back up the data stored on your device, including Relay’s local database, to your personal iCloud account.
This backup is controlled by Apple, governed by Apple’s privacy policies, and accessible only to you through your iCloud account. The developer of Relay has no access to your iCloud backups and cannot read, modify, or retrieve them.
You can disable iCloud backup for Relay at any time in iOS Settings.
Relay uses no third-party services. Specifically:
The app does not contact any server controlled by the developer or any third party.
Because we do not collect any information, we do not use any information. The data you enter into the app is used only to display the app’s screens to you on your own device.
We do not share any information, because we do not collect any. The developer has no access to anything you enter into Relay.
Information you enter in Relay is retained on your device until you delete it (either by deleting individual sessions in the app, by tapping “Wipe all data” in the app’s debug settings if available, or by uninstalling the app).
If iCloud backup is enabled, retention of the backup is governed by Apple’s iCloud retention policies.
Relay does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is designed for adult caregivers (parents) of newborns.
Relay is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Information stored on your device is protected by the standard iOS data-protection mechanisms. The app does not transmit data to any server, so there is no transmission-security concern. iCloud backups (if enabled) are encrypted by Apple.
Because Relay does not collect or store any information off your device, there is no developer-held data for you to request, correct, delete, or port. All data you enter is in your control, on your device.
To delete all data Relay has stored on your device, either:
If this policy changes in any material way, the change will be reflected in the “Last Updated” date at the top, and a notice will appear in the next version of the app’s release notes.
